attended Hiwassee Junior College in Madisonville, TN and graduated
in 1968 with an Associated Degree. He also attended ETSU from 1968
through 1970 before going to the University of TN Medical School in
Memphis. He graduated in 1974 as a Medical Doctor. He worked as an
intern at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga from 1974-1975. He
was then employed with Robert H. Harvey, M.D. in Erwin from
1975-1979. He opened J.W. Colinger, M.D., P.C. in Erwin from
1975-2002 before opening Unicoi Medical Associates in 2003. During
1981, he was recognized as an Outstanding Man of America. He was
also honored with the TN Health Care Association Distinguished
Professional Service Award in 1990 and received Who's Who in the TN
Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Colinger has been Medical Director
of a number of Health Care Centers. He has also participated in
Medical Mission trips to locations such as Romania and the Republic
of Moldova. He was an honored member in the National Directory of
Who's Who in Executives and Professionals from 1995-1996. He is also
a member of American Medical Directors Association.

Personal Information/Autobiography: Dr. Jason
Colinger joined Unicoi Medical Associates in 2006. He is a 1994
graduate of Unicoi County High School. He received his bachelors
degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville
in 1998 with departmental distinction. Dr. Jason was accepted to
Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in
2003 with awards in outstanding Clinical Achievement. He completed
his 3 year residency training at ETSU Family Physicians of Bristol
in 2006. He also served as chief resident there in 2005. He
graduated with the outstanding resident award and was the 2006
Caduceus Club Family Practice Resident of the year. He is married to
Lori Colinger and together they have three
children. His personal
interests include hunting, coin collecting and sports. His medical
interests include pediatric/adolescent medicine, dermatology, sports
medicine and chronic disease management.
Name: Dawn Smith, FNP

Personal Information/ Autobiography: Dawn
graduated from Milligan College in 1996 with a Bachelor degree in
Nursing. She began her nursing career at Specialty Hospital where she
worked Labor & Delivery and Newborn Nursery for 13 years. She then
obtained her MSN degree from ETSU in 2009 and began a career as a
Nurse Practitioner. She joined the Unicoi Medical Associates team in
April 2011. Her personal interests include reading, sports, and most
of all spending time with her two daughters.

Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse
Personal Informaion/ Autobiography:"Tina" started her nursing profession at Rutledge Nursing home as a CNA. She then went to Morristown nursing school where she graduated as an L.P.N. in 1990. She has worked in hospital situations, nursing homes, and began working in office situations at E.N.T. in Johnson City. She has worked in Elizabethton as well; however, she now happily works at Unicoi County Medical Associates. She is married and has one fat cat by the name of Shelton.

Brandy graduated Unicoi County High School in 1994 and started her
nursing profession at Erwin Health Care Center as a CNA. She graduated
from Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton as a LPN in 2007. She
was employed with EHCC from 1994-2007. Brandy began working at Unicoi
Medical Associates in 2009. She is married to Kenny Whaley and they
have two kids, Eric Stephen and Abigail Lee.

been an employee since February 1998. She is married to Jamie Tipton
and they have two sons, Zeb and Thad.
